Corbett James Monica, beloved husband, father and grandfather, 82, of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on November 25, 2024. A dedicated family man, respected professional, and community advocate, Corbett leaves behind a legacy of leadership, mentorship, and service. 


Born on February 4, 1942 in Newark, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Ralph A. and Carmela (Cuccinello) Monica. Corbett was raised in Livingston, New Jersey, and graduated from Livingston High School, Class of 1960. 


Corbett earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1965 from Lehigh University and later obtained his MBA from Rutgers University in 1972, while balancing his career and family life. 


After completing his undergraduate studies, Corbett served as an officer in the United States Army, including a station in Germany, where he exemplified dedication and leadership. In 1967 he was a graduate of Officer Candidate School 2nd LT. 


Corbett dedicated his career to the banking industry, specializing in commercial lending and supporting local businesses in their growth and success. He held leadership roles at several banks throughout his career, concluding his professional journey at Juniata Valley Bank of Mifflintown, Pennsylvania. A hallmark of his career was his passion for mentorship, as he took great pride in guiding and inspiring others within the banking community. 


A devoted Rotarian, Corbett was a member of the Rotary Club for decades, beginning in Vestal, New York, and later joining the Lewisburg Sunrise Rotary Club in Pennsylvania. His service culminated in his role as District Governor from 2007 to 2008, during which he exemplified Rotary’s motto, “Service Above Self.” 


His memberships included the American Legion Post #0182, Lewisburg; and Grand Lodge Free & Accepted Masons #970, Johnson City, New York; Past Chairman of the Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce. Along with his commitments to the Service Clubs and serving as a member of the Board of Directors for SBA, he also enjoyed camping and traveling overseas. 


On October 12, 1991 Corbett married the former Patricia M. (Riley) and they celebrated 33 years of marriage together. 


In addition to his wife, He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Corbett and Julie Monica of Raleigh, North Carolina and Stephen and Lynnie Monica of Las Vegas, Nevada, three daughters and sons-in-law; Margaret and Travis Loop of Wilmington, North Carolina, Katherine and Christopher Zonio of Endicott, New York and Jennifer and Timothy Donlin of Binghamton, New York, six grandchildren; Estella, Noah, Jack, Antonello, Ariel and Jacob, one brother-in-law; Joseph Dattoli and two nephews and their families; Joseph Ralph Dattoli and Scott Dattoli. 


Through his commitment to Rotary, Corbett hosted several exchange students over the years, helping to foster global connections and cultural understanding. Corbett’s relationship extended beyond the exchange program with his Turkish exchange student Pinar & her husband Burak Ecemis, her brother Nurettin Ay and his wife Burcu Dagli, sister, Manolya Ay, their parents; Mehmet and Meltim Ay and aunt; Emine Ay along with his 5 Turkish grandchildren. Pinar and her family became members of his family, exemplifying Corbett’s warmth and dedication to building lifelong connections. 


In addition to his parents, Corbett was preceded in death by his sister, Teresa Dattoli. He will also be fondly remembered by numerous extended family members and friends who cherished his warmth, wisdom, and humor.

All services for Corbett were handled privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were handled by Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 N. Front Street, Milton.
