Frederick L. "Fred" Fisher

MILTON - Frederick L. “Fred” Fisher, 86, formerly of West Milton, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 27, 2023 at Asbury Riverwoods Nursing Home, Lewisburg.

He was born on June 30, 1937 in Kelly Township, Union County and was the son of the late Robert Blaine and Mary Elizabeth (Horrox) Fisher, Sr.

He was a graduate of Milton High School Class of 1955.  He worked for Fox Knapp, Shippers Car Line and then retired from the USP, Lewisburg, after 20 years, as an Unicor foreman on October 3, 1990.  After his retirement he worked for and was still an associate with the Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, Milton.

Fred was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, West Milton, member of the Board of Directors of USNEP and a former member of the West Milton State Park.  He enjoyed camping at the Shy Beaver Campground, boating on the Susquehanna River and Raystown Lake, family vacations to Canada, fishing and was an avid fan of local high school soccer and the Dallas Cowboys.

He is survived by, two sons and daughters-in-law; Earl F. and Terri Fisher of West Milton and Robb B. and Deborah Fisher of Snydertown and their mother; Sharon Fisher of West Milton, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two brothers and one sister-in-law; Jackie E. “Zeke” and Marvel “Marv” Fisher of Milton and Jimmie D. Fisher of Montandon, one sister’ Shirley Franquet of West Milton and later in life, his longtime companion; Debbie Fisher of Milton.

In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by one son; Rick L. Fisher, one daughter Marikaye Snyder and three brothers; Robert B. “Sonny” Fisher, Jr., Terry W. Fisher and Richard A. “Dick” Fisher.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s UCC Church, P.O. Box 85, West Milton, PA 17886.

A gathering of friends and family will be held from 2:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M., Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Service, 125 N. Front Street, Milton.  Burial will take place at a later date in Highland Cemetery, New Columbia.  Arrangements are being handled by Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 N. Front Street, Milton.
