Isobel Feehrer

MILTON - Isobel L. (Follmer) Feehrer, 97, died Monday, December 10, 2018 at Smith Nursing Home, Mountain Top, PA.

She was born in Montandon on July 25, 1921.  She was the daughter of the late Henry P. and Mabel M. (Dietrich) Follmer.

On June 8, 1943, Isobel married the late Ray H. Shirk, Jr.  They were married for four months when he was killed in the war on October 24, 1943.  On May 30, 1951, Isobel married the late Joseph E. Feehrer; they celebrated 41 years of marriage together before his death on August 6, 1992.

Isobel was a graduate of Montandon High School Class of 1939.  She was a former member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Milton and a volunteer for the Milton Salvation Army for over 25 years.  She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, and baking.

Isobel is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; Ray H. 3rd and Joan Shirk of Nuangola, three grandchildren; Jennifer Shirk and her husband Samuel Hernandez of Brooklyn, NY, Ray H. Shirk, 4th of Middlebury, VT, and Mary and Fred Reynolds of Mechanicsburg as well as two great grandchildren, Harrison and Elizabeth Shirk, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husbands, Isobel was preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters.

All services for Isobel will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in Harmony Cemetery at a later date.  Arrangements are being handled by Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 N. Front Street, Milton.
