Jean Hess

LEWISBURG - Jean (Gerst) Hess, 73, died Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Riverwoods Senior Living Center, Lewisburg.

She was born on January 25, 1948 in Danville and was the daughter of the late Eugene and Agnes (Roup) Gerst.

Jean was married to the late Harry H. Hess, Jr. 48 years until his death on March 7, 2016.

She was a graduate of Danville Area High School, Class of 1965 and was a member of the Continental Fire Co. Woman’s Auxiliary, Danville.  Jean enjoyed painting ceramics and babysitting, however she loved spending time with her family.

Jean is survived by one son; Steven H. Hess of Milton, one daughter; Dana Hess and her fiancé Josh Huhn of Milton, three grandchildren; Brock Dershem, Brandon Hoey and Brady Hoey and one great grandson Cylis Dershem.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jean was preceded in death by four brothers; John, Paul, Joseph and Dave Kriner.

Services for Jean are being held privately at the convenience to the family.  Arrangements are being handled by Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 N. Front Street, Milton.
