Lewis Marotto

Lewis F. “Lou” Marotto, 92, of Northumberland died Friday, July 19, 2019 at Sunbury Community Hospital, Skilled Nursing Unit, Sunbury.

He was born on January 6, 1927 in Sunbury and was the son of the late Aniello and Madeline (Caroccia) Marotto.

On November 15, 1975 Lou married the former Shirley M. (Benfer) who survives, and they celebrated 43 years of marriage together last year.

Lou served his country proudly in the United States Army from 1945 until he was honorably discharged on October 21, 1946.

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Northumberland and a past member of Northumberland Fire Company.  Lewis loved going out to eat and also enjoyed gardening, cooking, planting things, traveling and working on things in general.  Most of all Lewis loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Lou is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law; Dave and Elaine Biddinger of Selinsgrove, Mike and Sally Biddinger of Milton, Barry Biddinger of Sunbury and Jeff and Debra Biddinger of Northumberland, one daughter; Mary Hollar of Sunbury, six grandchildren, one great grandson and one sister; Betsy DeWitt of Sunbury.

In addition to his parents, Lou was preceded in death by one grandson; Jeffrey Biddinger, Jr., one brother; Michael Marotto and Three step brothers; Pat, Charlie and Carman.

A public viewing will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 22, 2019 at Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 N. Front Street, Milton followed by the funeral at 11:00.  Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Northumberland with full military honors.
