Lucy E. Bergmueller

NEW COLUMBIA - Lucy E. (Hobbs) Bergmueller, 93, died Sunday, December 31, 2023 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

She was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on November 22, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Elmer and Betsy (Edmond Hobbs.

On February 17, 1951 Lucy married the late Adolf “Addie” Bergmueller and they celebrated 64 years of marriage together until his death on February 15, 2016.

She was a graduate of Woodbridge High School, Middlesex County Class of 1948 and was a member of New Hope Lutheran Brethren Church, Lewisburg.  She enjoyed sewing, reading, needlework and camping with Addie in New England.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; Robert and Linda Bergmueller of Apex, North Carolina, two daughters and one son-in-law; Beth Bergmueller of New Columbia and Amy and Robert “Bob” Stollsteimer of Browns Mills, New Jersey, three grandchildren; Jennifer Bergmueller, Bobby Stollsteimer and Aaron Stollsteimer.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lucy was preceded in death by one brother; Elmer Hobbs.

A public viewing will be held from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at New Hope Lutheran Brethren Church, 205 S. 14th Street, Lewisburg, PA 17837 followed by a Celebration Of Life service at 11:00 with Pastor Dave McCarty officiating.  Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, New Columbia.  Arrangements are being handled by Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 N. Front Street, Milton.
