POTTSGROVE - Marian J. (Ashenfelder) Croman, 88, died Monday, February 5, 2024 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born in Danville on June 7, 1935 and was the daughter of the late Atwood and Cora Marie (Renner) Ashenfelder.
On February 23, 1957 Marian married Raymond R. Croman, of Pottsgrove, and they have celebrated 66 years of marriage together.
She was a graduate of Danville High School, Class of 1953. Marian first worked at Milton Water Company and Busser Supply in Lewisburg and went on to work with Raymond at Croman’s Garage and Croman’s Buses in Pottsgrove for over 40 years. She was a member of Pottsgrove Presbyterian Church and the Pottsgrove Fire Department Auxiliary.
Marian loved to go fishing in Canada, create local history books, learning and documenting the history of Pottsgrove, the Yankees, cooking, baking and her many cats she rescued over the years.
In addition to Raymond, Marian is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Ralph and Karen Croman, of Pottsgrove and Steven and Melissa Croman of Selinsgrove, two grandchildren; Hunter Croman and Danielle Kraus and husband John, two great grandchildren; Delaney and Addison Kraus and one brother and sister-in-law; Wayne “Mike” and Jane Ashenfelder of Danville.
In addition to her parents, Marian was preceded in death by seven brothers; Brice, Edsel, Allen, Paul, Lee, Marvin and Robert Ashenfelder and one sister; Elinor Ashenfelder
Services for Marian will be held at a later date to be announced by the family. Arrangements are being handled by Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 N. Front Street, Milton.
