Myrna R. Bergmueller

LEWISBURG - Myrna R. (Putnam) Bergmueller, 88, died Thursday, December 5, 2024 at her home with her family by her side.

She was born in Lenoir, North Carolina on December 25, 1935 and was the daughter of the late Jewel C. and Helen I. (Winkler) Putnam.

On June 16, 1962 Myrna married the late Reverend Paul R. Bergmueller and together they celebrated 34 years of marriage until his death on December 4, 1996.

Myrna was a graduate of Lenior High School Class of 1954. She went on and earned her bachelor’s degree from Warren Wilson University and then earned her master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh. She worked for the Youth Development Center, Loysville from 1981-1988. Myrna then started working for Evangelical Community Hospital where she worked for 10 years and retired in 1997.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Milton where she was very active and loved helping out wherever she could and a past president of the Milton Garden Club. Myrna was an avid gardener, enjoyed arts and crafts and baking. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

Myrna is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Eric A. and Joleine Bergmueller of Millmont and Marc A. and Patty Bergmueller of New Bern, North Carolina and three grandchildren; Jonathan Bergmueller, Catherine Bergmueller and Allison Bergmueller.

In addition to her parents and husband, Myrna was preceded in death by two brothers; George W. Putnam and Dennis Putnam.

All services for Myrna are being handled privately at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery. Arrangements are being handled by Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 N. Front Street, Milton.
