Paul J. Grow

MILTON - Paul J. Grow, 97, died on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

He was born on January 12, 1926 in Muncy and was the son of the late Harry A. and Erma C. (Barrett) Grow.

Paul was a graduate of Muncy High School Class of 1943.  He then went on to serve his country proudly in the United States Navy and served during World War II.  

He was married to the late Ione D. (Hans) on February 20, 1948 and together they celebrated 69 years of marriage until her death on September 2, 2018.

Paul worked for Conrail as a Signalman and retired after 30+ years in 1988.  He was a lifetime member of the NRA and was an avid reader, especially about history.  He also enjoyed hunting, competitive shooting, golfing, being outdoors and listening to the birds chirping.  Most of all, Paul loved his family and cherished the time he got to spend with them.

He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law; Russell J. and Debra Grow of Milton, Stephen P. and Mary Grow of York and Scott R. and Tammi Grow of Lancaster, one daughter; Debra M. Sticek of Milton, 11 grandchildren; Robert, Roxanne, Michelle, Joshua, Justin, Brandon, Colby, Zachary, David, Kendall and Alex, 10 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

In addition to his parents and wife, Paul was preceded in death by four brothers; Thomas K., Howard R., George F. and Harley A. Grow and three sisters; Martha L. Moore, Clara May Smith and Kathryn G. Dewald.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, Milton Chapter, 30 Center Street, Milton, PA 17847.

A gathering of friends and family will take place on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 12:00 – 1:00 P.M. at Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 N. Front Street, Milton followed by a Funeral at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Mike Sweigard officiating.  Burial will follow in McEwensville Cemetery with full Military Honors.
