Richard Waltman

NEW COLUMBIA - Richard W. Waltman, 73, died Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on June 1, 1945 in New Columbia and was the son of the late Charles F. and Bertha M. (McCracken) Waltman.

Richard served his country proudly in the United States Air Force.

On February 7, 1992 He married the former Dorothy J. (Allen) and they celebrated 26 years of marriage together this year.

Richard was a graduate of Milton High School Class of 1965.  After school he enlisted in the Air Force and when he was honorably discharged he returned to the area and started working for Norman Buck Plumbing and Heating, of Watsontown and he retired after 40 years in 2007.

He was a member of Crossroads Church of the Nazarene, Montandon and loved hunting, fishing, camping and just being outdoors in general.  He also enjoyed helping others with their plumbing needs.

In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by one son and daughter-in-law; Shawn W. and Sandy Waltman of New Columbia, seven grandchildren, one great grandson, four brothers and sisters-in-law; Jim and Jeannie Waltman of New Columbia, Boyd and Debbie Waltman of Colorado, George and Jill Waltman of New Columbia and Donald and Barbie Waltman of Turbotville and one sister and brother-in-law; Sandra and Don Beaver of Selinsgrove.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by one daughter; Michelle Wilt, five brothers; Charles, Robert, Thomas, William and Harry and three sisters; Virginia, Patricia and Joanne.

Services for Richard are being held privately at the convenience of the family.  Burial will take place at a later date in Upper West Chillisquaque Cemetery, Montour County.  Arrangements are being handled by Dale Ranck Cremation & Funeral Care, 125 North Front Street, Milton.
